There may be times when you need to delete a front end user or a back end admin. Note: Users with an Administrator level account can delete a front end user accounts as well as other administrative user accounts (administrators, account managers, editors, etc.).
Delete Front End User
Log into the Admin dashboard and go to Users > All Users, then enter their name, username, or email address in the Search field and click the “Search Users” button to find the user you want to delete.
If the Front End User is associated with a org or venue profile, click on the username to open their profile, then click on the User Association tab. Remove the association by unchecking the org and/or venue listed. Click the Update User button.
Go back to the User listing and locate the user name again. Hover over their username to reveal the “Delete” link. Once you click the Delete link you will be asked to confirm the removal.
Click the Confirm Removal button to complete the deletion process.
Delete Admin User
There will also be times when you need to delete an ‘administrative’ user account. One note of caution, there are 4 Artsopolis ‘super’ admin accounts that should never be deleted:
- dadasinger
- elinext
- kathl33n63
- okitsu96
When you are ready to delete an administrative user, log into the Admin dashboard and go to Users > All Users and click the Administrator link at the top.
From the list on Admin users, hover over their username to reveal the “Delete” link. Once you click the Delete link you will be asked to confirm the removal.
Click the Confirm Removal button to complete the deletion process.
Change the user’s role to No Role For This Site
As an alternative to deleting an admin account, if you set a user’s role to ‘No Role For This Site’, the next time they log in they will see the following message:
This is extremely effective. The user can technically still log in, but they have no ability to access any pages in the admin area.
