Adding or Editing Organization Categories

All organization profiles require an organization category. These categories allow  your site user to filter or search via category type to quickly find the type of organization they’re looking for.

Adding a New Category Type

If you need to add a new category, please follow the steps below.

  1. Hover over the ‘Organizations’ link on the left sidebar dashboard. Click on Categories.
  2. Type the new organization type in the ‘Name’ field under the ‘Add New Categories’ header.
  3. You can ignore the Slug and Parent fields. If you are using Yoast SEO, you can add an org description to your new category type.
  4. Click the ‘Add New Categories’ button. The new organization category will appear on the right in alphabetical order.

If you ever need to make changes to your existing categories, simply hover over the one you wish to change and click “Edit.”

Adding a Description to the top of your Category Page

If you would like a short description to display at the top of the category type’s page be sure to add a description, and check the ‘Display to Public’ box before selecting the blue ‘Add New Category’ button.

Your site will display this description similarly to what you see in the below image.
